Fire Agate is a layered stone. The layers are small enough that light entering those forms interference colors known as "fire". The agate we offer are natural agate is dyed burnt umber, and then heated to create the crackle effect. The white portions are a manmade, permanent surface additive that enhances contrast and crackle beauty.
